What This Skill Does
Grounded only in what competitors actually say
Every claim traces to a competitor's own page, never a guess based on general reputation.
Compares apples to apples
Extracts the same four fields - tagline, differentiator, audience, proof style - for every competitor, side by side.
Shows you the gap, not just the list
Notes where competitors claim something your own materials don't, so you can see it at a glance.
Refuses to fill in the blanks
If a competitor's material wasn't actually reviewed, it says so - never fills the gap from what the model "knows" about the brand.
Fast, not exhaustive
Built for a quick read before a conversation, not a full competitive intelligence engagement.
Best Used For
- A quick read on how 2-4 named competitors present themselves before a messaging or positioning conversation
- Checking whether a claimed differentiator is actually differentiated, or something every competitor also says
- Spotting a proof point or claim competitors use that your own materials don't mention
- A lightweight gut check after a lost deal or a rebrand conversation
How It Works
Most owners have only a vague sense of how competitors talk about themselves - a feeling, not a side-by-side. This skill builds that side-by-side directly from what competitors actually publish: their own homepage, about page, or marketing materials, whether fetched from a URL or pasted in directly. It never fills a gap with a general impression of a well-known brand, because that impression can be outdated, wrong, or simply invented.
For each of 2-4 named competitors, it extracts the same four things - the stated tagline, the claimed primary differentiator, the implied target audience, and the proof style they lean on (case studies, logos, statistics, or none) - with every field backed by a quote from the material actually reviewed. If your own positioning is provided too, the snapshot notes direct overlaps and clear gaps between what you claim and what competitors claim.
You walk away with a comparison table and a short list of where the market is saying the same thing everyone else says, and where a competitor is claiming something you aren't - not a ranking of who's winning, and not new positioning written for you.

Common questions
No - it's a descriptive snapshot, not a scored ranking. It shows you what each one claims, side by side.
It won't rely on what it already knows - every field comes only from that competitor's actual page or material, reviewed in this conversation.
2 to 4 - built for a fast, focused read rather than a broad market scan.
No - it names the overlap or gap. Deciding what to do about it, or writing new messaging, is a separate step.
