What This Skill Does
Get a real verdict, not a vibe
Delivers a specific renew, renew-with-changes, renegotiate, or part-ways recommendation, built from a stated rule over the ratings rather than a gut call.
Judged against what was actually promised
Scores delivery, communication, strategic input, and results against the commitments you describe, not a generic industry checklist.
No invented cost benchmarks
Every rating comes from what you report about your own engagement; if you'd rather not share spend, it skips that category instead of guessing at a "typical" retainer.
Backed by your own words
Each rating carries the specific thing you said as evidence, so the scorecard holds up when you bring it into the renewal conversation.
Built for a short conversation
Answer in plain language about scope, commitments, and results - no contract language or spend breakdown required to get a real result.
Honest when the evidence is thin
A category you can't speak to is marked as such rather than folded into a false confidence score.
Best Used For
- Ahead of a quarterly or annual agency performance review
- Before deciding whether to renew, renegotiate, or end an agency contract
- When you want a structured second opinion before trusting your own gut on an agency relationship
- Building a documented record of agency performance to bring to leadership or a board
How It Works
An owner paying an outside agency usually has a gut feeling about whether it's working - but rarely a structured way to test that feeling before a renewal decision, and the agency itself has every incentive to frame its own work favorably.
This skill turns what you already know about the engagement into a rated scorecard. Describe the scope of the work, what was originally committed to, what's actually been delivered, and - if you're willing to share it - what you're spending. It scores four areas in one pass: whether deliverables match commitments, how responsive and communicative the relationship is, whether the agency brings real strategic thinking or just executes orders, and whether results justify the spend.
Each area comes back rated against a fixed scale, backed by your own words as the evidence. From there, a stated rule over the rating pattern produces one clear verdict - renew, renew with changes, renegotiate, or part ways - so the recommendation traces directly back to what you reported, not to a hunch. You walk away with a documented scorecard you can act on or bring into the renewal conversation.

Common questions
No - spend is optional. If you'd rather not share it, the results-versus-spend category is skipped rather than scored on a guess.
No - the verdict is a direction (renew, renegotiate, part ways), never a named replacement, hire, or legal recommendation. What you do with it is yours to decide.
That's fine - describe what you recall in plain terms. Not knowing what was committed to is itself scored as real information, not treated as a blocker.
No - this scores an actual track record, so it needs a real engagement to look back on. It's not built to review a proposal before you've signed.
